Rachid Taha was the subject of the main music article in a recent Sunday New York Times. The Algerian singer-songwriter living in Paris will be touring the USA in July with his sixth solo album “TÈkitoi”.
The article describes perfectly the personality of this politically engaged and provocative artist: an adventurous musician generously blending raÔ, rock and electronica: a world citizen who never denies his convictions. In “TÈkitoi”, he freely expresses his opinions and fears about the confused world we’ve been living in since September 11th. “TÈkitoi” has been his most harrowing and yet fascinating album to date. One thing is sure: he’s definitely not another packaged, smiling and polite singer!
